Our Story
In 1972, Don Nichols turned his passion for boating into a reality by opening Nichols Marine in McAlester, Oklahoma. What started as a small operation quickly grew into a trusted name known for exceptional service and deep-rooted community ties. Over the last 53 years, we have expanded to five convenient locations across Oklahoma and Texas—Norman, Tulsa, Monkey Island on Grand Lake, McAlester, and Longview—while staying true to our original mission of helping families enjoy life on the water.
Though we’ve grown, the heart and heritage of Nichols Marine is still evident in our original building located on the northwest corner of the McAlester property. Now in its third generation of family ownership, Nichols Marine continues to carry on Don’s legacy—delivering honest, personalized service and offering top-quality brands like Chaparral and Bennington, which we’ve proudly represented since 1997.
